Chile versus Peru, semifinals Copa America!
Tonight will see the first semifinal of the Copa America 2015 and the spot in the final will be disputed by Chile against Peru, in Santiago de Chile.
Chile seem unbeatable, they had a really great start and continued showing some great performance along the way, they never stopped fighting. The only moment when Chile had a slight lapse, was the match against Mexico, when their defensive side showed some weakness. But that was it, the Chilians quickly got back on track passing over Uruguay, with a 80% possession of the ball with a commanding attitude. So here they are, in the semifinals of the championship, the championship that Chile tryed so hard in the past years to conquer, but without any luck.
This year also the fact that they are the hosts of the event and all the positive and encouraging spirit of the fans, I`m sure it helped a lot too, making them more motivated then ever and eager to get the trophy. Even if they are top favourite of the championship because of their hosting position and adding to that the fantastic results they had lately, it will be a difficult match against Peru, a team who has quality players and a great offensive game.
Peru on the other hand started the tournament quite poorly and here we`re talking about tha match against Brazil, which they`ve lost but that seems to may have given them a good boost of motivation as they`ve managed later on, to straighten the unfortunate opening event. They are in the semifinals, aren`t they?! that says it all.
I think they`ll come tonight with a great deal of confindence if we were to consider the fact that they sent home Bolivia by 3-1, mostly thanks to Paolo Guerrero and another important thing to consider would be the fact that they are two-time champions of Copa America, even if that was a very long time ago.
Since 2006 the two sides met ten times and the results are crushing in Chile`s favour, having won nine out of ten. For tonight Chile has all the odds on her side.
