Bolivia faces Peru disputing a secure spot in the semi-finals.

Tonight Bolivia faces Peru in the second round of the quarterfinals, at the Estadio Municipal of Temuco and it will probably be a very balanced match, considering both sides have similar performance value and due to defensive style both have used in their last matches, it`s possible for us to see a rather boring than spectacular encounter between the two.

Having spared Hurtado, Zenteo and Bejarano in the last encounter of he groups, the match against Chile who defeated Bolivia with crushing 5-0 score, they should be in good shape and able to evolve a good performance in this important round where they`re playing for a secure ticket into the semi-finals.

They have played and counted on a defensive strategy so far and had a good start in the group fixtures till they`ve met Chile, maybe an uninspired move of coach Mauricio Storia in choosing the team, sparing the strong players. They also have a lask of offensive action, haviong a hard time reaching the opponents net. Anyways, they`ve made it in the quarterfinals finishing third in their group and many consider it a surprise, from both sides disputing tonight.

Peru on the other hand have some better assets for the match tonight, assets like Vargas, Sanchez, Pizzaro and Guerrero, who are key players and a great plus for the Peruvians. Peru have had a difficult task in the groups, facing strong teams like Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela.

Jefferson Farfan had some medical problems during the tournament and is still recovering plus Josepmir Ballon and Carlos Lobaton who are both suspended, yet, the Peruvians don`t seem to be concerned about these minuses as they have good replacements for the missing players. Coach Ricardo Gareca declared that the team accepts they are opening the game as favourites even if they don`t see it that way and the only thing that`s important is for the players to give their best, not to take the match lightly and their well aware of the well prepared and very technical opponents.

Considering the importance of the match I`m sure neither one of the teams won`t take any risks, as I said first they`re both balanced but tonight won`t be enough just to defense themselves, they will have to score in order to advance in the semi-finals.
