Brazil meeting Peru at Copa America starters.
Tonight will be Neymar`s debut at Copa America, as Brazil faces Peru for the starters of Copa America championship.
Hoping this time will have much more luck and the results will really turn out to be in their favour, Brazil is starting the tournament in a very positive mood, playing in Group C, opening the game against Peru. We all remember their last year disaster against Germany in the finals of the World Cup, where the germans have demolished them with a painfull 7-1 score, a match that will linger for long in their football history.
To really make things clear we can also remember that in the same period they`ve lost against Netherlands with a 3-0 score, that was to be the decisive match for Luiz Felipe Scolari`s career at the national, as he soon after the poor results of the matches we were talking about earlier, departed. He managed to get unacceptable results last year.
He was replaced by Dunga, who had already won important trophies, like World Cup in 1994, and even since, he had a smooth evolution. In ten friendlies occasions, Brazil managed to win each and every one of the games conceding just two goals along the way, under Dungas guidance.
After victories against Argentina, Columbia, Japan, Chile or France, the brazilians may take this match a bit lightly, considering it a formality.
On the other hand, Peru starts this match with nothing to lose, clearly topped by the national of Brazil. They will surely start with an offensive formation, having as a backup Claudio Pizarro, the forward of Bayern Munchen. It`s obvious, that at a certain point, Peru will try to defend themselves, attacking.
Their last encounter finished with a 3-0 in favour of Brazil, but the statistics show that Peru never lost two times consecutive facing Brazil, at least not since 2000. It`s hard to say if Peru will manage to surprise us, but they will surely try and they have chances to score.
This could be and is expected to be a spectacular game to watch, the favourite is obviously Brazil, but it`s opponent won`t give up easily.
