Crvena Zvezda will face Napredak in the first round of the new Serbian Super Liga season. The game will take place friday from 19:00, UK Time.
Crvena Zvezda are the champions of the previous campaign and there are big expectations this year too. They lost one of the most important players of the previous campaign, Mako Grujic, sold to Liverpool. The home side played five friendlies this summer, having a good record, with four victories and only one defeat, 2-4 to Pandurii Tg. Jiu (Romania).
Napredak were not so active this summer, winning the last friendly, 2-1 vs Radnicki Nis at the end of June. The visitors are new promoted in Super Liga after one season in the second division. Napredak lost all five trips here since 2008, scoring only two goals and conceding no fewer than 16. Their last good result at this stadium was a draw, 1-1 in October 2007.
