The second game of the season in French Ligue 1 will take place today from 19:30, putting face to face AS Monaco and Guingamp.
AS Monaco have first chance at the bookies, with odds around 1.73 at the moment. They finished on the third position last campaign, fighting this season for a podium place again. The home team didn’t impress us in the friendlies, but they did well in UCL Qualifiers, eliminating Fenerbahce, 4-3 on aggregate. Now Monaco are preparing for the Champions League play-off, trying to reach the group-stage.
Guingamp scored five goals vs AS Monaco last season, ticking a draw, 3-3 at home, and a defeat, 2-3, in the previous trip here. The visitors played six friendlies, winning four of them. They lost the two other, 3-4 to Angers and 0-2 to Brest. Guingamp’s last win over AS Monaco took place in 2015, 1-0 in Ligue 1 in front of the own fans. On the other hand, they failed to win any trip here in the past 16 years.

The odds are very attractive and we could give a try. Anyway, Monaco won’t have an easy task here, proof that they struggled last season too, conceding five goals from Guingamp, as we said. They need a good start, having the fans behind them too.
