Should they win that tie, then Bayern would only be one two-legged affair away from reaching the Champions League final. While European success is not as expected as domestic success, it would create a hugely memorable season for their fans should they have success in Europe to go with their two domestic trophies.
The toughest domestic hurdle Bayern have left to tackle is the DFB Pokal German Cup. They are in the semi-finals and face Bayer Leverkusen in April for a place in the final.
