Hamburger SV vs. Karlsruher SC, Bundesliga play-offs.

The first leg finished with a draw between the sides, 1-1, maybe an unexpected result. A good thing for the Karlsruher maybe but not for the Hamburger SV. The second-leg will be played today on the Hamburg Stadium, and because of the result of the first-leg will be a very strong match, with strongly motivated players.

Karlsruhers SC seem to be in great shape and this is a great opportunity for them as they are nearly 10 years out of Bundesliga. With a victory today they would play again in Bundesliga after so long. They are psycologically prepared for a possible return in the Bundesliga, very determined, they`ve showed it in the way they`ve played the first-leg. Forward Hennings gave his best performance, but there was a replacement, with Yamada missing, Nazarov took his place and as a finishing note, midfielder Peitz got suspended for yellow cards.

As for the Hamburgers, the first-leg wasn`t exactly what they`ve expected. In fact, the draw, creates them great difficulties, being in danger to be left out Bundesliga if they lose this match. They are indeed motivated to really, desperately hunt a victory. They`ve had a poor performance on the first-leg, only near the finish of the game the Hamburger SV started playibg a decent and most expected game. They`ve had several other difficult moments in this season, but they`ve managed to get over those periods. Besides that, they have some suspensions and injured players, Jansen and Behrami are still recovering from injuries and Westermann and Kacar are out for to many yellow cards.

One thing is certain, Hamburger SV must improve their performance, otherwise they will risk a relegation. It will be tight match, the odds are in favour of the Hamburgers, but as i said, it`s a tight one, today.
