John Higgins vs Martin Gould – Snooker – 04.07.2015

John Higgins SnookerJohn Higgins versus Martin Gould, Australians Godfield Open Final!

Martin Gould has won the semi-final against the very well known Maguire, highly ranked but unlucky this round and as a result he will meet John Higgins today in the final of the Australian Goldfields Open, one of the living legends of snooker. It`s a great achievment for Gould and now is his chance to prove he deserves it.

However it seems to be a great “fixture” between the two, Gould plays excellent snooker and about Higgins we don`t need to say much, we already know he`s World Champion and not once, so that says it all.

Martin Gould, 33 years old, started the last four clash very cinfident with breaks of 54, 82 and 87 which contributed to establish an early 3-0 lead as he began to capitalised on a mixture of poor shape and lack of fortune, for Maguire and got even worse when he tryed to get out of a snooker in the fourth frame, fact that made him leave the arena for a few moments, to calm down. The five-time winner of the event, did manage to avoid the whitewash but obiously wasn`t enough.

Higgins also had to reverse the same scorline but he had no problems in doing it and managed to stunn his opponent, that is certainly not a surprise if we`re speaking of the scotish player and coach

Gould has been working hard all this week and in general, along his coach Steve Feeney for the new campaign. The experience and knowledge Steve Feeney surely worked for Stuart Bingham, who was the new World Champion.

Higgins is aiming for his 27th ranking event trophy, that would equal Ronnie O`Sullivan in the all-time list. That would be a great for Higgins, also because as we saw, over the years, between him and O`Sullivan there were some teasing. For the Australian final today, John Higgins is the indisputable favourite for the title. Good luck to them!
